Back in June when Shaky Alibi opened, I made a mental note to visit one of these days. The early morning after my surgery seemed like the most opportunte time to check it out.
Shaky Alibi is a tiny little "Coffee Bar and Wafflerie" with a small menu and about three tables (!) with an incredible atmospere (don't worry, they have plenty of bar stools). I love the neighborhood vibe, the decor, the staff.. the waffles!
These are no ordinary waffles, no siree. They're called Liege waffles and are made to order, served piping hot from the waffleiron at the bar. And the best part? This amazing Belgian spread called speculoos. It's a bazillion times better than Nutella (kind of a bad word around there), much more light and creamy, with a salty caramel semisweet taste to it. SWOON!

If you ever find yourself on Beverly Dr., please do yourself a favor and go. You won't be disappointed. As for me, there's no cause for alarm, but I had wrist surgery yesterday morning. Give me six weeks + two months physical therapy and I'll be good as new.
