When everyone started preparing for Project Life at the end of last year, I knew I'd be a window shopper; gazing wistfully at all the insane amount of creativity out there in blogland while not participating myself. I know my schedule and I know myself - when things get chaotic, crafting is the first to suffer.
I really didn't want to set myself up for disappointment. But I couldn't stop aweing at all the great Project Life projects out there. So I decided to take small steps and tweak it my way. It's definitely not grand and super embellish-y as I'd like it to be, but I'm loving how easy and fast I can whip them up. It's fun to reflect on what I did back in Jan & Feb. xo

I finally got some time to photograph this layout over the weekend. It's funny how your mood can dictate your direction of things. In my case, it was scrapbooking. I'm battling a cold right now and it was at its worst on Saturday. Normally, I gravitate toward big, bright, bold papers in my stash. This time, I tossed the colors aside and went straight to beige and the neutral blue. I started working on printing out my list and arranging the layout and the entire time, I kept thinking why something just seemed off. It was color! I lacked my brights but my head was too fuzzy to see it.
Frustrated, I took a nap to shake off the Zicam. When I woke up, I went back to my craft table and took a look at what I did. Scrapbooking when you're sick is like scrapbooking when you're drunk. Don't do it. The end result is the same. Bad, bad, bad. Anyway, I threw in some color on that bad boy and called it a day.
I don't know why I told you all that...

I love organizers and planners about as much as I love clothes.
I love flipping through the previous months and admiring my penmanship, hearing the rustling of old pages turned, and feeling the inkmark the pen leaves on my written pages. Typing this makes me nostalgic of high school in second period when I would write my daily to-do's every morning right after the student body president said the pledge of allegiance :]
Janet and I are so excited to share with you a project in the undertaking that has finally come to fruition!
Unsatisfied with a planner I purchased last year, my sister and I went into a three-hour long conversation of our ideal calendar. We reminisced over our high school "reminder binders" and gushed over how awesome it would be if "our" calendar could have this feature, or be this size. Thus, we began sketching out a prototype of what we feel is the ultimate planner.
I am so happy to say Just Sweet Love's 2012 Calendar/Planner is now available on Etsy.

I've been itching to play with patterns and ribbon for quite some time now. Lately, I haven't seen much of my craft studio, which makes me sad. However, after a sweet reader requested a wedding card for an upcoming nuptial, I jumped at the chance to make the images in my head come to life. I love these colors.
See more photos here.
Next up is my weekend in photos. Stay tuned. It's v. food-y :]

Back in May, I attended the Reflections event and took an amazing class with the incredible Katie Watson.
I was completely blown away with her creative mini book and have only now finally come around to almost finishing it.[you can see more here]
I say almost because I have two more pages I need to complete and I am drawing a blank. I've never done a project just "about me" before so it was fun at first finding things I luv. But now I need two more things I luv. My darling readers, you've known me for some time now, you probably know things I luv before I come to realize I luv them. Ayuda me, por favor.
Please give me suggestions, tips or ideas on two things I love so I can finish this mini book! Pretty please? I love you.
On a more somber note, I want to take this time out and reach out to the lovely Katie Watson. She is going through a very hard time right now and my heart goes out to her and her entire family. Her father has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I can't imagine the hurt and pain she is going through but my thoughts and prayers go alongside you, Katie.

I've been staying up past my bedtime these past few weeks to get in some craft time and I think it's finally catching up to me. I am such a sleepy penguin today! But one look at these pretties affirm the late nights are worth it. Don't the colors just get you? :]
This is from a custom card order. You can view more pictures here.
Working on some new updates for the etsy shop. I'll preview more soon. Sleepy smiles all around. No turkey sandwiches for me today. Turkey is loaded with tryptophan, which contributes to sleep. Hey, I might delusional but I still know my biology. loveu.

In less than four weeks, the boy and I are going to "the Miami of Canada" [as referred to by Mr. Burns in an episode of The Simpsons] to meet up with one of my favorite couples in the whole wide world, Janel + Indie! Holy happy dance!
I've never been to The Windy City before and I'm really excited! We're going to celebrate vintage*johnny's birthday, attend Renegade shy-town, eat hot dogs + ramen!!! And let's not forget deep-dish pizza!
Last night, I spent some time with this face booking our hotel and telling her all the hot dog joints we're going to hit [six so far!]. And then I found out Janel doesn't eat hot dogs!
After convincing her we just gotta have hot dogs there, I made some super cute cards. I love the color combos, no? :]
I think my coffee was a bit too strong this morning because my brain is a little wired. I'll come back later when I stop feeling so jittery-happy. Tootles, bye, goodbye, ciao, cya, adios, farewell.
