Growing up, I didn't know much about music. I listened a lot of Top 40's, watched a lot of MTV, and called it a day. It wasn't until my little brother would make me playlists for my drive to my apartment in college that I really began to understand the value of music and the emotional component that takes you over when words can't form. Around the same time, I was bartending at a monthly grassroots jam that brought together community, consciousness and culture in Chinatown. It was eye-opening and awe-inspiring.
My musical tastes truly began expanding once I started taking dance classes. I began focusing on finding music that resonated with me - and the moods I needed to express. I'd like to think my range is pretty eclectic - I love everything from Pharcyde to Jay Z, Miles Davis to The Black Keys, Britney Spears to Lana Del Rey. And it's ever changing.
As a peace offering for my recent absense, I made three extra copies of my January and February 2012 playlist as a continuation of my Twenty.Eight list. Please leave a comment below telling me your favorite song of the moment. I'll mail out the CDs to the first three commenters.

DAY ONE [TUESDAY JUNE 15, 2010]
First up are some really fun Chic Prints for Nails by OPI in super funky designs! The nail patches are a solid-film material with an adhesive back that is heat activated. The patches come in varying widths to contour to your nails. And then, all you have to do is file the excess off, which will be provided for you in some awesome Tokidoki nail files! And just throwing it out there, one of the nail designs are anchors... for all you anchor lovers out there...
Summer is definitely going to be so much more fun donning these guys!
DAY TWO [WEDNESDAY JUNE 16, 2010]
Second is this fantastic stationary + cute stuff set! Included are three sets of Just Sweet Love specialty cards made especially for this giveaway, three sets of adorable Korean stationaries that you can write love letters and pen pal letters, a very cute sketch pencil case.... to hold equally cute colored pens [so you know.. you can write me love letters].
